Honeycomb activated carbon
Honeycomb activated carbon comes in two types: waterproof and non-waterproof, used in the water treatment and gas treatment industries, respectively. Manufactured from high-quality coal-based or wood-based carbon powders, it combines excellent adsorption capacity with superior mechanical strength. The honeycomb structure allows for efficient mass transfer, enabling rapid capture of organic solvents, odors, and harmful gases even at low concentrations. Unlike granular or powdered forms, honeycomb carbon minimizes channeling and bed compaction, ensuring uniform airflow distribution. It is also regenerable through thermal or steam treatment, offering a cost-effective and sustainable solution for industrial ventilation systems, paint booths, and chemical processing plants.

Working principle
Honeycomb activated carbon operates primarily through physical adsorption. As contaminated air passes through its parallel channel network, pollutant molecules—such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odors, and toxic gases—are captured within the extensive micropore and mesopore structure via van der Waals forces. The honeycomb geometry maximizes geometric surface area while minimizing flow resistance, ensuring rapid mass transfer and uniform gas distribution. Additionally, the carbon surface may participate in weak chemisorption, further enhancing retention. This efficient combination of pore diffusion and surface affinity enables high removal efficiency even at low pollutant concentrations.

Product Advantages
1.Low Pressure Drop & Energy Efficiency – Its monolithic honeycomb structure with parallel channels allows high-flow-rate operation while minimizing resistance, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to packed-bed adsorbents. 2.Superior Mass Transfer & Uniform Flow – The open-channel design ensures rapid gas diffusion and even airflow distribution, effectively eliminating channeling, bypassing, and dead zones commonly found in granular media.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Have Questions? We're Here to Help.
Identify the pollutants to be adsorbed; examine key indicators; and conduct small-scale trials to verify the results, taking into account cost.
No. The iodine value only indicates the number of micropores and is suitable for small molecules; if processing large molecules, the methylene blue value and the proportion of mesopores need to be considered.
Drinking water/odor removal: Coconut shell charcoal (high micropores); Municipal high-flow-rate charcoal: Coal-based charcoal (high strength); Industrial wastewater decolorization: Wood-based charcoal (well-developed mesopores); Specific selection requires flexibility.
Granular activated carbon (general purpose), honeycomb activated carbon (high airflow, low resistance), and fiber felt (high-requirement applications) are all available.
Yes. You can contact us to select samples, specifying the quantity and requirements.
Yes. Particle size, column diameter, honeycomb size, pore size, and iodine value/CTC can all be customized to your needs.
