NC-AC800-1000 is produced from renewable agricultural wastes such as coconut shells, walnut shells, or apricot pits through carbonization and steam activation. Working principle
Shell-based granular activated carbon is produced from renewable agricultural shells (coconut, walnut, or apricot) through carbonization and high-temperature steam activation. The irregular granular shape provides high external surface area for rapid mass transfer. Contaminants—such as organic compounds, chlorine, VOCs, and gold cyanide complexes—are captured through physical van der Waals forces within the micropores. Additionally, oxygen-containing functional groups on the carbon surface enable chemisorption for polar molecules, enhancing removal efficiency in both liquid and gas phases.
